The ancient medicine of acupuncture originated in China approximately 3000 years ago. The basic theory of acupuncture is that the body has an energy force running through it called Qi (pronounced chee). The Qi flows throughout the body along special pathways called meridians. When these pathways become imbalanced either by excess or deficiency this can cause stress, pain or illness. By placing single use sterilized needles onto specific points on the body we can access these energy pathways and aid the body in returning to a state of balance.
